Hundreds Of Bronx Apartment Building Workers To March For A Fair Contract

Strike Authorization Vote to Take Place Outside Bronx Borough Hall on March 10th

WASHINGTON, D.C. – March 10, 2015 – (RealEstateRama)
WHO:  About 1,000 Bronx residential workers, 32BJ Union Leaders, Congressman Charlie Rangel, Congressman José Serrano, Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr., and other elected officials

WHAT:  March, rally and strike authorization vote

WHEN:  Tuesday, March 10th at 5pm

WHERE:  Bronx Borough Hall, 161st St and Grand Concourse

WHY:  3,500 doormen and doorwomen, handypersons, porters, and supers who work in over 1,000 apartment buildings across the Bronx are demanding a fair wage increase and benefits that will make it possible for them to provide for their families and keep up with rising costs in New York City. Bronx real estate is booming and residential workers want to make sure their next contract allows them to stay in the Bronx and provide a bright future for their kids.

**This is the same rally that was originally planned for last week but due to the snow it was rescheduled for March 10th.

       With more than 145,000 members including 70,000 in New York City, 32BJ is the largest property service workers union in the country.
