N.Y. Power Authority Presents Startup Funding for Buffalo Energy Plan as New York Observes Earth Week

WASHINGTON, D.C. – April 17, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Buffalo Mayor Byron W. Brown will be joined by representatives of the New York Power Authority (NYPA) and state and local officials on Thursday, April 23, at 2 p.m. to formally kick off implementation of the recently unveiled Buffalo Energy Plan, which will reduce overall energy costs and carbon emissions, advance energy sustainability and support clean energy technologies and jobs.

The news conference includes a check presentation that is part of a series of events coordinated by New York State in observance of Earth Week.

Announced by Governor Andrew M. Cuomo in his 2015 State of the State address, the Buffalo Energy Plan is one of five such initiatives NYPA is spearheading for the largest New York municipalities, outside of New York City, that could save them up to $400 million annually in energy costs.
