New owners of Rochester Technology Park in Gates have grand plans

Gates, NYThe soon-to-be new owners of Rochester Technology Park in Gates — site of the former Eastman Kodak Elmgrove facility — have grand plans for the 500-acre park.

Josh Yashar, partner at Brooklyn-based Tryad Group, already is in negotiations with a hotel developer to build a hotel and bring retail to the Rochester area’s largest commercial real estate site. He’s also working with broker Paul Campbell of Moore Corporate Real Estate in Brighton to snare new tenants.

Yashar and Campbell have landed one new tenant. Citigroup plans to lease 15,000 square feet to use as its backup call center, Campbell said.

Yashar is no stranger to redeveloping industrial sites, having purchased large facilities in the New York City area and converted them into loft apartments or mixed-use sites.

Yashar declined to reveal what he paid for Rochester Technology Park, noting it will be public record when the deal closes next month.
