Governor Cuomo Announces State to Extend Buyout Program for Staten Island Homeowners Affected by...

Albany, NY - November 19, 2013 - (RealEstateRama) -- Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that homeowners in the Ocean Breeze neighborhood on Staten Island will now be eligible for buyout assistance under the NY Rising Housing Recovery Programs. Under the buyout program, properties purchased will be maintained as open space or transformed into coastal buffer zones, parks or other non-residential uses that will help protect nearby communities from the impact of extreme weather. With today's announcement, up to 129 properties in Ocean Breeze will now be eligible for buyouts (map of neighborhood with eligible properties available here.) Mangano, Cuomo Announce FEMA Emergency Assistance for Homeowners

New York, NY - November 15, 2012 - (RealEstateRama) -- Nassau County Executive Edward P. Mangano and Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today announced that FEMA will issue Emergency Assistance for New Yorkers whose homes were affected by Hurricane Sandy. At the Governor’s request, FEMA will bring in contractors in order to perform basic repairs so that residents can return to their homes while more long term repairs are in progress. Only residents in the federally-declared counties are eligible to participate in this program. Homeowners in these localities who want to apply for assistance should contact their county or local officials to receive contractor support.
