NYCEDC Reaches Negotiated Property Acquisition Agreements with Two Additional Willets Point Businesses

New York, NY - May 26, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) today announced it has signed property acquisition agreements with two additional property owners at Willets Point, Queens. The acquisitions announced today total 34,403 square feet, bringing the amount of land now controlled by the City to about 40 acres, or 1,742,400 square feet. The agreements are the ninth and tenth negotiated land acquisitions in Willets Point, also known as the Iron Triangle.

NYCEDC And UMEZ Announce Program to Assist 125th Street Businesses

New York, NY - May 6, 2009 - (RealEstateRama) — New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC) and the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone (UMEZ) announce the Harlem Business Assistance Fund, a grant program intended to offset some expenses small businesses may incur in relocating to 125th Street and its vicinity. The program is funded by New York City Industrial Development Agency and will be administered by UMEZ on behalf of the City.
