Tonko Announces Federal Funding for Albany International

ALBANY – August 3, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) – Congressman Paul Tonko announced today that the Albany County Airport Authority will receive $1,153,216 from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) to rehabilitate the terminal building at Albany International Airport. The project will fund the first of two phases to replace approximately 126,000 square feet of the terminal roof that has reached the end of its useful life.

“This funding will ensure Albany International will have the resources it needs to maintain a safe and professional atmosphere, continuing to meet the demands of our business and leisure travelers and develop the local economy here in the Capital Region,”said Tonko.

Albany International was the first, and remains the oldest, municipal airport in the United States. It is a public airport seven miles northwest of Albany.
