Towns To Attend Macdougal Street Affordable Housing Grant Presentation – Brooklyn, NY – August 19th, 2009
BROOKLYN, NY – August 18, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — U.S. Rep. Edolphus “Ed” Towns (NY-10) will be on hand when Astoria Federal Savings and the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York present Concern for Independent Living, Inc. with a $968,087 Affordable Housing Program grant. The grant will help fund the construction of Concern MacDougal, which will create 65 units of affordable housing for low-income individuals with psychiatric disabilities in Brooklyn.
Congress created the Affordable Housing Program 20 years ago. Since the Program’s inception, the Federal Home Loan Bank of New York has provided nearly $9 million in subsidies through 17 Affordable Housing Program grants in New York’s 10th Congressional District.
