NYPA EXECUTIVE HONORED BY AMERICAN PUBLIC POWER ASSOCIATION

WHITE PLAINS – June 9, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Randy Crissman, a veteran New York Power Authority executive, has been honored by the American Public Power Association for his contributions to improve procedures for reliability compliance, monitoring and enforcement of government regulations at public power utilities.

Crissman, NYPA’s vice president of technical compliance, received the Harold Kramer-John Preston Personal Service Award from the APPA, which represents more than 2,000 publicly owned electric utilities.

“It’s an understatement to say this award is well-deserved,” said Gil C. Quiniones, NYPA president and CEO. “Randy has long been a valuable member of the NYPA team and his expertise has helped public power organizations create a roadmap that will make the enormous task of compliance management less burdensome.”

Crissman helped NYPA, the nation’s largest state-owned public power organization, rapidly respond to a changing regulatory environment by implementing its first reliability standards and compliance management program, which is now regarded as a model for other public utilities.

Crissman’s far-ranging portfolio at NYPA also includes oversight of its physical infrastructure security and emergency management programs, as well as quality assurance and code compliance. He also coordinates NYPA’s participation in standards development programs at the North American Electric Reliability Corp. and Northeast Power Coordinating Council.

A 28-year NYPA employee, Crissman has also served as vice president of asset management and regional manager of the Niagara Power Project and St. Lawrence-FDR Power Project, NYPA’s largest hydropower generation facilities.
