FARMINGVILLE, NY (May 30, 2017) –- (RealEstateRama) — Frederick C. Braun III, chairman of the Town of Brookhaven Industrial Development Agency (IDA), announced the agency accepted an application from a company that plans to build a plant to supply advanced road marking materials in Shirley.
Regent Tek Industries Inc., a technologically advanced start-up manufacturer of thermoplastic road marking materials, will become one of just a handful of manufacturers in the Northeastern United States, according to the company. Regent Tek, a certified Woman Owned Enterprise, plans to use innovative thermoplastic formulas developed in Europe and specially formulated for northern climates and will supply line-striping companies and transportation agencies north of Virginia and as far west as Illinois.
The application by a Regent real estate affiliate, Nicstenik LLC, will be considered under the IDA’s adaptive re-use policy. The application, accepted at the IDA’s April 19, 2017 meeting, is subject to IDA review, a public hearing and final approval.
Regent Tek Industries, owned by Helen Torkos, of Shelter Island, plans to buy an existing17,500-square-foot industrial building at 202 Mastic Blvd. in Shirley, at a cost of $2.4 million. The company will have five full-time employees within a year of beginning operations. The company plans to open on July 1.
