Troy, NY – April 22, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — Empire State Development (ESD) today announced that Automated Dynamics, a high-tech manufacturer of composite structures, will expand in New York State with a new, custom-built 30,000 square foot building at the Niskayuna Commerce Park in Schenectady County. The $3.5 million investment will create 20 new manufacturing jobs and retain 30 existing jobs. Automated Dynamics has outgrown its current manufacturing facility on Nott Street in Schenectady and the facility was outdated. The company considered numerous locations including other states before selecting the Niskayuna Commerce Park for this new investment.
“By choosing New York State, Automated Dynamics will continue to thrive and create new high-tech manufacturing jobs,” said Empire State Development President, CEO & Commissioner Howard Zemsky. “The expansion of Automated Dynamics is another great example of successful business development resulting in job creation in the Capital Region.”
Automated Dynamics has a 30 year track record of providing high strength composite structures to the defense, automotive, industrial, and oil and gas industry, including numerous patents for its lightweight and high strength components. The company will be leasing the new building space and purchasing new machinery and equipment to accommodate its increased production. Based on growing demand for its products, the company plans to increase employment from 30 to 50 jobs within the next few years.

To assist Automated Dynamics expand in Schenectady County, ESD will provide $300,000 in performance-based Excelsior Jobs Program tax credits, provided as the company creates new jobs. Schenectady County Metroplex Development Authority is also providing a $60,000 grant to support the project.

Joe Landry, Niskayuna Town Supervisor said, “This is just the type of high-tech company we want to attract to the Niskayuna Commerce Park. It will help us attract additional high-tech jobs to our growing business park.”

The new 30,000 square foot building will be built by the Galesi Group at the company’s Niskayuna Commerce Park. Construction on the new building will begin this summer. The Niskayuna Commerce Park is home to Unilux Advanced Manufacturing, a new $20 million Army Reserve Center and more than 100 acres of shovel-ready land for growing tech firms.
