ROCHESTER, NY – November 16, 2007 – Existing single-family home sales are up by 5.9 percent compared to last month, according to statistics released by the Genesee Region Real Estate Information Service (GENRIS), the information subsidiary of the Greater Rochester Association of REALTORS®.
The number of homes listed for sale increased by 1.6 percent compared to last month, and increased by 3.3 percent compared to October 2006. The median sale price decreased by 5.4 percent to $114,500 compared to September 2007, and increased by 2.6 percent year-to-date.
There was a 1.1 percent increase in year-to-date dollar volume of sales, ending with a total of $1,529,819,899. The 2007 year-to-date figures show that the number of existing single-family home sales was down by 1.6 percent in Monroe County and also down 2.2 percent in the City of Rochester compared to last year at this time.
New listings for all properties in the region are down 0.3 percent year to date.
