WASHINGTON – (RealEstateRama) — Congressman Tom Reed announced that C-S Canal Hydro, LLC, in Waterloo, New York, is the recipient of a Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency grant for $99,500 for the purchase and installation of a trash rake at a Hydroelectric facility.
“Encouraging the sustainable production of energy and improving infrastructure are both vital to our district, our state, and our nation. This grant will help to accomplish both,” Reed said.
This project is expected to result in 408,000 kWh of incremental generation per year — enough to power 37 homes.
REAP Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency loans and grants are approved by USDA Rural Development to assist farmers, ranchers and rural small businesses in developing renewable energy systems and making energy efficiency improvements.
