New York, N.Y., – May 14, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — Turner Construction Company, the nation’s largest builder of green buildings and education facilities, has been selected by the New York School Construction Authority (SCA) to manage construction for the $83 million new settlement community campus for students in grades 1-12 in the Bronx, New York. The campus is scheduled for completion in 2012.
The new settlement community campus is being designed to meet The New York City School Construction Authority’s Green Standards, including waste recycling and the use of local building materials within a 500 mile radius.
The scope of work includes construction of a primary, intermediate and high school and community center. The school will contain classrooms, administrative offices and facilities, a student cafeteria, kitchen, gymnasium and library.
