New York, NY – March 5, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Blesso Properties has named Albert Price president and chief operating officer, according to Matthew Blesso, founder and chief executive officer.
In this position, Mr. Price will work closely with Mr. Blesso on the identification, concept development, management and financing of all projects.
“We don’t view ourselves as a typical development firm, and I was not looking for a typical president,” said Mr. Blesso. “Our firm isn’t interested in doing commodity-type investments, but in conceiving and executing our own unique concepts.
“Out of the 200-plus individuals that applied for the job, Albert was the only one with proven success in executing unique development concepts. I’m thrilled that he and I will be working side-by-side to take Blesso Properties to the next level.”
Prior to joining Blesso Properties, Mr. Price, 43, served for 12 years – most recently as managing director and partner – at Goldman Properties, where he was responsible for overseeing the operations of its New York and Boston offices and for several luxury and super-luxury residential and commercial loft developments, including the purchase, redevelopment and sale of a 17-building, 1.2 million-square-foot portfolio of commercial buildings in Boston. Together with his partner Tony Goldman, he conceived, structured and built 25 Bond Street, one of the first of a handful of super-luxury buildings completed in New York between 2007 and 2010. The project was awarded the 2008 AIA Housing Design Award, the 2008 Pinnacle Award of Merit and the 2008 Multi-Family News Design Excellence Award. Other development projects were 103 Greene Street and 109 Green Street.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Price worked in the real estate banking and finance arena
for Capital Trust. In 1999, he formed Rosebud Ventures to engage in value-added real estate development opportunities.
Mr. Price is a member of the advisory board of Princeton University Real Estate
Network, a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation and the New York Landmarks Conservancy. He graduated from Princeton University with a bachelor of arts in politics.
“I’m delighted to join Matt and his team at Blesso Properties, which has outstanding vision and an exemplary record of success,” says Mr. Price. “We share the idea that focusing on creativity and having a social mission not only is more rewarding, but drives the bottom line. Blesso has several truly exciting and cutting edge new concepts in the pipeline, which I’m excited to help make a reality.”
