The #1 auto parts retailer relocates to the prestigious Rockland Center Shopping Center
Fort Lee, NJ – January 22, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) – Metro Commercial announced today that it has brokered an 11,000 square foot lease for Auto Zone in the Rockland Center Shopping Center in Nanuet, New York. Auto Zone, which is the #1 auto parts retailer in America, expects to open in late spring 2009.

The 259,000 square foot Rockland Center, located on Route 59 in Nanuet, New York, is anchored by a 53,000 SF Pathmark and a 25,000 square foot HomeGoods, which was brokered by Metro Commercial in 2008. Other major tenants include Office Depot, Petsmart and AC Moore.
“Population density, growth and strong relative affluence have made this relocation an appealing area for both retailers and developers,” says Kerner. “We feel that Auto Zone’s relocation from their previous site on Route 59 in Nanuet will result in better exposure and greater traffic at their new location in the Rockland Center.”
The Auto Zone was founded in 1979 with its original store, then called Auto Shack, in Forrest City, Arkansas. They now sell auto and light truck parts, chemicals and accessories in over 4,200 stores located in 48 states, Puerto Rico and Mexico. All stores are company owned and operated. Each Auto Zone carries an extensive line for cars, sport utility vehicles, vans and light trucks, including new and remanufactured hard parts, maintenance items and accessories. Its new location in Rockland Center is expected to do well because of greater access, co-tenancy and visibility.
