New York, NY – March 15, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — +aRt (www.540w28.com), a new premium condominium development located at 540 West 28th Street, is pleased to announce the opening of “Well Hung,” a new art exhibition curated by Mikhail Sokovikov and Jason Aaron Wall, artists known as Mint&Serf.
Since September 2010, Ekstein Development, the developers of +aRt, has donated the building’s commercial space to non-profit organizations to curate a rotating series of art exhibits. After four successful exhibitions with Chashama (www.chashama.org), an organization that transforms vacant properties into art galleries, Ekstein Development has selected Mint&Serf’s “Well Hung” as the development’s newest exhibit. A portion of proceeds will be donated to Free Arts NYC (http://www.freeartsnyc.org/), an organization which provides under-served children and families with educational arts and mentoring programs.
“With the success of the previous exhibits, we are thrilled to have another exhibition in our retail space at +aRt,” said Erik Ekstein, principal of Ekstein Development. “Having a gallery on-site further contributes to West Chelsea’s artistic community, and we are pleased to bring a new gallery to the neighborhood.”
The previous series drew in hundreds of visitors, bolstering the artistic community in West Chelsea and subsequently increasing traffic to +aRt’s sales office.
Well Hung features a collaboration of artists’ work in the form of sculpture, paintings, drawings and photography. The exhibition opened on March 5 and runs until Sunday, April 3. The hours of operation are Tuesday – Sunday from 12 p.m. – 6 p.m. For a full list of participating artists please visit:

In addition to curating “Well Hung,” Mint&Serf are creating a permanent art installation in the staircase leading from the penthouse level to the roof terrace at +aRt. The custom installation is expected to be complete at the end of March and will be designed in the artist’s signature vibrant, floral theme.
Located at 540 West 28th Street between 10th and 11th Avenues, +aRt was built in reverence to the artistic narrative of Chelsea’s most important artists, architects, and poets. The 13-story new construction building is being exclusively marketed and sold by Halstead Property Development Marketing and features 91 artfully designed condominiums. The remaining homes are studio, one and two-bedrooms and range in price from $560,000 to $2.15 M and size from 445 to 1,466 square feet.
