New York, NY – March 7, 2012 – (RealEstateRama) — Syracuse NY realtors warmly extend their felicitations to Ms. Judith Mower, this year’s recipient of the Wisdom Keeper award. The awarding ceremony will take place at the Nicholas J. Pirro Convention Center at 800 S State Street on April 4, 2012. The event will commence at 5:00 p.m. and end at 8:00 p.m.
Recipients of the Wisdom Keeper Award are carefully selected based on their exemplary display of genuine leadership as well as continual caring and an innate awareness and keen understanding of the vital importance of having a vision for the future. Candidates and winners alike have been chosen due to their ability to educate follow citizens – both children and adults – about the crucial need for taking responsibility as an engaged citizen of the community. These individuals are also able to lead and show by example how important it is to develop a trusteeship in one’s local community.
Dr. Judith Mower, the 2012 awardee, is presently involved with various community boards that include F.O.C.U.S. and other organizations such as Parks and Trails New York, United Way, and the Syracuse 20/20 Community Task Force. She is also a member of the Say YES to Education Leadership Council as well as being one of the trustees for the board of Syracuse University. Previous to this, she owned and
operated JC Mower Consultants.
Previous recipients of the Wisdom Keeper Award include the Syracuse University Chancellor & President Nancy Cantor, the Honorable William Sanford, and Charlotte “Chuckie” Holstein. Their plaques are on display at the City Hall Commons.
Aside from providing a special celebration to recognize the winner of the Wisdom Keeper Award every year, the event is also a fundraising event for F.O.C.U.S. Greater Syracuse. F.O.C.U.S. stands for “forging our community’s united strength” and is made distinguishable from other organizations due to its commitment to realizing the common visions of the thousands of people that make up the city of Syracuse rather than the select few holding authority positions in the area.
Aside from the annual Wisdom Keeper awarding ceremony, the organization has other projects that include Citizens Academy, an open forum on “Civil Discourse”, and Re-imagining Onondaga Lake.
