NEW YORK CITY, NY – November 1, 2011 – (RealEstateRama) — Brand Matter, LLC, a premier brand strategy firm, has signed a lease for 5,776 square feet of office space at 1450 Broadway, according to Corey Abdo, executive vice president and principal of Winoker Realty, who represented the landlord in the deal, along with senior managing director Barry Bernstein.
Brand Matter will take occupancy of the eighth-floor space on January 1st, 2012. The asking rent in the deal was $48 per square foot.
1450 Broadway, purchased in June 2011 by The Zar Group, is a 42-story office tower on the corner of 41st Street. The building houses such companies as the BCBG brand and Iconix Brand Group, and is conveniently located in the southern part of Times Square. The Zar Group has initiated the process of transforming the property into a premier, boutique Times Square office tower.
The Zar Group is a Manhattan-based real estate private equity firm that invests primarily in office, retail and multi-family assets in the tri-state area. Bobby Zar, principal of The Zar Group, has indicated that leasing interest and activity at 1450 Broadway has been extremely strong. The building is currently over 90% occupied.
Michael Frantz and Billy Cohen of Newmark Knight Frank, LLC brokered the deal on behalf of the tenant.
