New York, NY – July 17, 2009 – (RealEstateRama) — Turner Construction Company, the nation’s largest builder of education facilities, has been selected by the East Irondequoit Central School District to manage construction of a $66 million multi-school renovation and construction program in Rochester, N.Y. Completion is scheduled for 2012.
The scope of work includes the renovation and addition to five schools in the District. At Eastridge High School, the work includes a 41,000 sq. ft. addition to the indoor and outdoor athletic facilities, 33,000 sq. ft. of interior renovations, a kitchen/cafeteria, a supplemental power and heat source for pool complex generated by micro-turbines using natural gas and recycled energy and technology upgrades including Smart Boards, wireless and fiber-optic infrastructure along with a district-wide communications system. At Laurelton-Pardee Intermediate School and Durand-Eastman Intermediate School, upgrades include 4,600 sq. ft. of classroom additions at each school, a 2,400 sq. ft. and 3,500 sq. ft. renovation respectively and MEP upgrades. At Ivan Green Primary School and Helendale Road Primary School, Turner will manage construction of a total of 80,000 sq. ft. of renovations and 13,000 sq. ft. of additional classroom space, as well as site improvements, MEP upgrades and other interior finishes.
