City to Hold Public Open House in Support of the East Main Arts & Market Initiative

New York – June 16, 2015 – (RealEstateRama) — The City will host an open house next week to discuss draft recommendations for the East Main Arts & Market Initiative. This will be the second of two public meetings for the study, which seeks to identify multi-modal circulation, access and parking improvements, recommendations for land use development, streetscape enhancements, community branding, and strategies to promote housing opportunities. The initiative covers the area immediately east of Rochester’s Center City, which is home to both the Neighborhood of the Arts and the Rochester Public Market.

The purpose of this open house is to review input from the first public meeting and to discuss draft concepts and recommendations that have been developed to address a number of community priorities. These include concepts for East Main Street, the Main/Goodman and Goodman/Webster/Garson intersections, connections across the railroad tracks, housing development and community branding.

The open house will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 17, 2015 at the School of the Arts, 45 Prince Street. The meeting is open to the public and light refreshments will be provided. Members of the public who are unable to attend the meeting but would like to submit comments may send them via email to Erik Frisch, Project Manager (erik.frisch (at) cityofrochester (dot) gov) by Tuesday June 30, 2015.

Additional project information is available on the City’s web site at: http://www.cityofrochester.gov/eastmain.
