WHITE PLAINS – (RealEstateRama) — The New York Power Authority Trustees has approved a low-cost hydropower allocation to the village of Westfield, in Chautauqua County, to support a food manufacturer that plans to create 48 jobs.
The 150-kilowatt allocation is also in support of plans by The Original Crunch Roll—a company founded earlier this year—to spend $3 million on its new facility, including the acquisition of a large building that will be upgraded for manufacturing and office space.
The company’s signature product is the Crunch Roll, a mixture of chicken cooked in a spicy sauce and cheeses, which is wrapped in a breaded shell and fried. It is sold to restaurants and at sports arenas throughout upstate New York.
Westfield is one of 51 New York municipal electric systems and rural electric cooperatives served by the Power Authority.
The allocation to Westfield will be drawn from 54 megawatts of hydropower that is part of a block of nearly 765 MW that municipal electric systems and rural electric cooperatives receive from NYPA’s Niagara Power Project.
